Summer 2016 found me with a little time to explore lesser known regions of the Nahanni River and Nahanni National Park Reserve

My whole life has been influenced by wilderness expeditions. From early childhood raft trips through the canyons of the Nahanni River to watching the sun rise at the edge of Utah mesa I am fortunate to have know the power of these spaces and the impact that traveling through them can have. This lifetime of experience has taught me the ins and outs of a successful outing and often answering questions for those headed into the backcountry. To share these wild areas with people truly gives me pleasure and as the old saying goes...

Anything worth doing, is worth doing right”
— Hunter S. Thompson

Firmly believing in the value of wilderness experiences left us with no option and as our guests can attest we figured a few things out around camp, over the fire and on the water.

Home made pie with fresh blueberries anyone? Nahanni Wild takes dutch oven cooking further than you thought possible!

To camp this well takes systems, experience and a continuous desire to improve. While the easy out would be to say "trust me" we thought this would be a great opportunity to shed some light on the camping, rafting and canoeing techniques we employ on our expeditions.  Our accomplished team of guides and the industry experts who ensure we operate at the highest levels of accreditation will also be weighing in. We look forward to drawing upon their knowledge and inspiring true connections with the wild.

We will keep things coming as fast as we can and if there are things you are interested in learning about technique, equipment, the Nahanni River or any of our other incredible destinations please don't hesitate to say hello!
