As I write this the Nahanni Wild guide team prepares for the season. For some it means switching gears, putting down the skis and picking up the paddle. For others it is the end of year of study and it is time to step out and reengage with their passion for rivers and wild places. Still others will join us in the midst of busy careers. We couldn’t be more proud of them all, they are incredible leaders.
This week we came together for our annual training expedition. As much as we worked through rescues scenarios, first aid and camp management we also built relationships. The teamwork, camaraderie and respect that our team shows each other, acknowledging areas of strength in each other and collectively is the core of Nahanni Wild. Through the course of your expedition you will see their skills on the water, around the campfire in the field as they share their love of wilderness.
With refreshed skills, new recipes and a fire lit by a week of challenging ourselves we look forward to hearing the stories of our season, the delicious meals shared incredible places and the connections made to other adventurers and to our irreplaceable natural world.
Yours for adventure,
Joel and the Nahanni Wild family
